Our Space

Our space has a flexible interior design that supports a wide range of community uses in a beautiful, family-friendly environment (and we have a sweet little patio too!). We are open Tuesday-Saturday, and the space is available for private rentals on Sunday and Monday. This spring we added our pocket theater, which doubles as a raised play nook and place to hang our hammock, to the main space.  By the time fall comes around we plan to have our addition finished, which will double our sq. footage and give us the community kitchen that we’ve been dreaming of since day one! In the meantime we will spend Spring and Summer making no-cook snacks together in the current space.

Finding a space for our first location was not easy, but we did it! After a city-wide search we found a place to put down roots at 5214 Delridge Way SW in West Seattle. It is hard to believe it, but our family has been in Delridge for a year now. We still have a lot to learn about our new home, but there are already so many things that we love!

Our building is situated within easy walking distance of a Seattle Public Library branch, a high quality publicly funded preschool, a P-patch Community Garden, and entrances to the Longfellow Creek trail and Camp Long. We are also just a few blocks from the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center and the Delridge Community Center. All of this means that there is already a lot of great sharing and community building going on in our new neighborhood! We hope to engage with the diverse residents of this area to co-create a vibrant community space that enriches all of our members, and spreads benefits outside its walls.

  1. I am intrigued by your new venture. I have lived in south delridge a little over a year and find myself wanting to make our neighborhood a better place. One thing I would love to make happen is Litter pick up a monthly or biweekly event. I pick up trash as I push my daughter in the stroller on walks. Not sure if this would be something to accompany your mission.

Love that you two are following your vision. Keep up the good work!!

Hi Ellen! Thank you so much for the encouragement! Picking up litter would be a natural fit for us. We could easily integrate that into some of our walks together. I was just telling people last week that although I LOVE walking with my son on the paths along Longfellow Creek and through Camp Long, I think that he gets a ton out of walking on the neighborhood sidewalks as well. When we walk past houses we talk about food plants that we see in yards, we read house numbers, we spot our favorite cars, and we meet neighbors! Picking up litter along those sidewalks shows the neighbors that we care about the neighborhood, I often do it in a casual way, but coming prepared with gloves and a bag can make a big difference.

We would love to meet you and your daughter! Stop by for a visit if you get a chance!

  2. I was wondering if you would be interested in starting a Seed Library in your location similar to the one at the Healing tree on California Ave (http://www.seattlefarmschool.com/west-seattle-seed-library/). I would be willing to get it all set up but am just looking for a place for it to be located 🙂
