Make, Mend, and Conversation – Join Kristin in setting aside some time to repair household stuff while talking with friends. The CGS spake will be in makerspace mode, with mending tools and materials available for all to use. Make, Mend and Conversation Thursday 9-11:30am
Playgroup – Enjoy playing with our toys in a space that is homey without being at home. We will have lots of blocks and building toys in the carpeted room, and things for bigger movements and make believe in room with the hard floor. This playtime is a mixed age group that welcomes infants, pre-school kids, and young homeschoolers to play together. We also strongly encourage adults in the room to “build their village”. Playgroup Wednesday 3-5pm and Friday 9-11:30am
Any Weather Walks – An hour of walking at mid-day is a great way to get some light and warmth in winter. We enjoy exploring the paths along Longfellow Creek and in Camp Long. The duck pond and the climbing rock are both favorite destinations. Or, sometimes we mix things up and head up the stairs to Puget Ridge Playground instead. The walk can easily be adjusted to match the day’s walkers, and we have fun umbrellas to loan out in case of rain. Any Weather Walks Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11:30-12:30
Quiet Hours – A few hours every week will be reserved for quiet. Writing, reading, drawing, and quiet handwork are all welcome. There is wifi for computer work if a space for that is needed. This time is reserved for adults and older children who thrive on quiet. Tea, cocoa, or cider will be provided. Quiet Hours Tuesday and Friday 3-5pm and Thursday 6-7:30pm
Snack Making and Story Time – Join Kristin in putting together a snack while the kids play. We are focusing on no-cook options while we get our kitchen up and running. We have made some tasty granola bars and energy bites. Snack Making and Story Time Wednesdays 9-11:30am
Simplicity Circles – We will meet once a week to support one another in choosing simplicity in our lives in everything from our inboxes to our wardrobes to our holidays. Priorities will be connecting and sharing resources and stories. Additionally, we will meet every other week to talk about simplicity parenting. We’ll share our experiences and consider together that the answer might be to do less. Babes in arms are welcome in both circles, and handwork is, too! Simplicity Parenting Tuesdays 6-7:30 pm – Simplicity Circle Wednesdays 6-7:30pm
